Community Access to the Arts (CATA)

Community Access to the Arts (CATA) is a nonprofit that provides inclusive arts programs for children, teens, and adults with disabilities. Through dynamic arts workshops and public events, CATA artists tap into their talents and share their artistry with the public. Participants explore new interests and learn skills in painting, drumming, acting, music, dance, creative writing, juggling, yoga, and more. Year-round art shows, performances, and readings share the talents of CATA artists with the community.

CATA's programs are geared towards people with developmental and intellectual disabilities, people with traumatic and acquired brain injuries, elders with Alzheimer's and dementia, students in special education and alternative learning programs, as well as other neurodivergent individuals. No prior experience is necessary!

CATA workshops take place Monday - Friday at our studios in Great Barrington and at partner organizations across Berkshire and Columbia counties. We work with schools, day programs, community centers, social service agencies, eldercare settings, parents and caregivers to bring CATA to as many people as possible.

To sign up, contact Kara Smith (CATA Program Director) at (413) 528-5485 or Email Kara@CATAarts.org. Sign up online at CATAarts.org/get-involved/become-a-cata-artist.
