Literacy Network (LitNet)
Description
The Literacy Network of South Berkshire (LitNet) has been offering free, one-on-one tutoring sessions for adults since 1991. LitNet’s flexible, personalized approach to tutoring enables adult learners to learn English, succeed in their jobs, get new jobs, support their families, and engage with their local communities. We provide tutors who work with learners who work in-person or virtually, your choice. Relevant text, reading, and workbooks are provided!
We provide tutors for learners who are English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), preparing for their citizenship test, or who want support in various areas of adult basic education including support in preparing for tests such as the GED/HiSet. TOEFL, Accuplacer, or other academic or placement tests.
LitNet provides a very generous and supportive scholarship for qualified candidates on their path to citizenship. The Keator Family Scholarship for New Americans requires an application to be submitted and reviewed by a LitNet committee prior to being awarded the funds and a tutor to help eligible, potential new Americans prepare for their citizenship exam and interview.
