Berkshire Regional Transit Authority (BRTA)
Description
BRTA helps people get to work, to school, to doctors’ appointments, to the grocery store, to visit family, and more. BRTA provides fixed route and on-demand service for older adults and people with disabilities six days a week, with limited evening and no Sunday service. Public transit is the most efficient and cost-effective way to move residents about the area for their daily trips while reducing single occupied vehicle traffic.
BRTA offers Travel Training to teach individuals, groups, students, customers with disabilities, and seniors how to travel independently throughout Berkshire County. This free service is self-paced and available to all. Your instructor will stay with you, teaching you techniques for safe travel until you are ready to travel on your own. It can be scheduled by emailing traveltraining@berkshirerta.com. For additional information on learning how to ride the bus, click on the links for BRTA’s Travel Training brochure in English or Spanish.
