DESCRIPTION:* Español abajo\, Português abaixo \nDear community\, \nWe are excited to announce the open call for the Iris Artistic Residency 2024 Program in collaboration with The Studios at MASS MoCA. The Iris Residency is an opportunity for artists living in Western or Central Massachusetts who are foreign-born/immigrant\, or first- or second-generation American. We will select two artists for a funded one-month residency at MASS MoCA with a stipend\, the usual residency benefits\, and optional resources from the Berkshire Immigrant Center. Below are two dates for you to keep in mind: \n\n\nThe application deadline for the Iris Residency 2024 is Friday\, September 8th. Apply here. \n\n\nWe also want to thank you all for participating in the Iris Residency Community Day 2023. SUMMARY:Housatonic Heritage: A Walk Into the Past\, Steepletop\, New Marlborough
DESCRIPTION:Description: At 1\,230 acres\, Steepletop Reserve is the Berkshire Natural Resources Council’s largest reserve\, containing five miles of marked and maintained trails\, all on easy grades. Bring your binoculars (we have some to lend!) and thinking cap as we explore the vast wetlands\, stonewalls\, and cellar holes. 2 hours – 2.5 miles \nDirections: From Great Barrington\, take Route 23 east to Monterey. Just after the Monterey line\, bear right onto Route 57/183 into New Marlborough. Just before the Old Inn on the Green in New Marlborough\, turn left onto North Road; follow for 1.6 miles. Turn right at the steep\, inclining driveway marked “684”. Bear right into our gravel parking lot at the top of the little hill. The trails begin right at the trailhead parking; there is a kiosk just beyond the gate.
